RN Staff - Full Time - Emergency Services (Day Shift)

Responsibilities

• Responsible and accountable for a group of patients during a designated time frame and to provide care to these patients via therapeutic use of self, the nursing process, the environment/instrumentation, and other health care team members.
• Supervises the activities of Licensed Practical Nurses, Unit Assistants, Monitor Technicians, Certified Nursing Assistants, Nurse Technicians, unit clerks and Paramedic technicians.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

• Successfully completed Board Certified Nursing Program.
• Current LA RN licensure.
• Current BLS, ALS, and PALS certifications (ALS/PALS within 6 months of hire) through any International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR) provided courses such as Ochsner Health System, American Heart Association, and American Red Cross. The ILCOR course must include a manikin check off.

Preferred Qualifications:

• One year of acute emergency department experience preferred.

Physical Demands

• Must possess good physical health.
• Some requirements include but are not limited to standing, sitting or walking for long periods of time.
• Lifting at least 20 pounds is required.
• Must be able to work with a moderate level of noise.
• Physical effort required: Constant (67%-100%) - seeing; Frequently (34%-66%) - lifting, carrying, pushing/pulling, reaching, handling/feeling, talking, hearing; Occasionally (1%-33%) - climbing (stairs, ladders, etc.), stooping, crouching.
