About the role

We provide direct patient care in a specialty unit, adhering to the organization's scope and standards of practice. Our team collaborates across disciplines to ensure comprehensive patient care.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates learning needs of patients and families and provides appropriate education.
• Plans, implements, and evaluates patient care based on assessments.
• Maintains patient records and communicates patient condition as necessary.
• Delegates tasks to other healthcare professionals as needed.
• Collaborates with other healthcare providers to coordinate patient care.
• May precept student nurses and new hires.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree from an accredited institution.
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Florida.
• ACLS certification.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
• APHON Chemotherapy and Biotherapy Provider card required within 12 months of hire for oncology patients.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required for certain departments.
• Pediatric-specific certifications such as PALS and NRP required within 30 days of hire.
• Completion of relevant certifications as per departmental requirements.

Qualifications

• One (1) year of nursing experience required.
• Experience in a specialty unit preferred.
• Effective communication and decision-making skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, stressful environment.
