RN Specialty Clinic - ENT Clinic (F/T Days Pratt Cancer Center)

Overview

Provides professional nursing care to patients within the medical practice in support of, and as directed by, the physicians. Assists the physician in the treatment of patients and completes related clinical paperwork.

Responsibilities

• Supports the physician in the treatment of patients
• Completes related clinical paperwork
• Carries out responsibilities in line with the Mercy Philosophy of caring for the sick and suffering, respecting human life, and upholding Christian values
• Communicates with patients, families, visitors, and employees in a caring, friendly, personal, and professional manner

Qualifications

• Education: Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
• Knowledge: Principles and skills needed for nursing, care, examination, diagnostic and treatment room procedures, medications and their effects, patient education, principles to develop a self-care program, instruments, and common safety practices
• Licensure: Current valid state license
• Certifications: CPR certification or obtain within 90 days of employment
• Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: Skill in assisting and performing a variety of medical treatments and procedures, ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations, ability to interpret, adapt, and apply guidelines and policies, ability to communicate clearly and establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, staff, and the public, basic computer terminal and keyboard skills or the ability to learn these skills to access information and enter clinical data
