About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a PRN Registered Nurse (RN) in the Emergency Department at HCA Florida Lawnwood Hospital, part of HCA Healthcare, the nation's leading provider of healthcare services. Responsibilities
- Coordinate and deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in accordance with departmental, state, and specialty standards.
- Collaborate with medical providers and care team members to provide individualized, comprehensive, and compassionate care using established nursing models (Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage).
- Serve as an advocate for patients, families, and caregivers while supporting the organization’s vision, mission, and values.
- Assess patient pain regularly and promote effective pain management, including reassessments after interventions.
- Perform procedures, monitoring, and other functions as ordered by medical providers.
- Document the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
- Respond promptly to patient requests and proactively anticipate patient needs.
- Teach patients, families, and caregivers about medical conditions, treatment plans, medications, side effects, and follow-up measures using clear, non-technical language.
- Educate patients and families on non-medicinal follow-up measures, such as lifestyle changes, disease prevention, and healthy habits.
- Prepare patients and families for future self-management.
Requirements
- Current (RN) Registered Nurse licensure.
- Associate Degree in Nursing.
Qualifications
The following certifications must be obtained within specified timeframes of employment start date:
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (within 30 days)
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (within 30 days)
- Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (within 6 months)
- Neonatal Resuscitation (within 90 days)
- Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (within 90 days)
- PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support (within 30 days)
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (within 6 months)
