About the Role

Addington Place at College Harbor is seeking an experienced RN for our 52-bed Skilled Nursing community in St. Petersburg, Florida. This part-time position offers an opportunity to work in a resident-centered culture that prioritizes quality care, dignity, and compassion while shaping and mentoring a strong nursing team.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care to residents under the direction of the shift supervisor and supervise day-to-day activities of nursing assistants.
  • Ensure an atmosphere that respects resident rights, privacy, dignity, and well-being in a safe, secure environment.
  • Support and comply with procedures and programs for:
    • Safety, including universal precautions, fire/safety/disaster plans, risk management, and security.
    • Confidentiality of resident, employee, and operations data.
    • Quality improvement and regulatory compliance.
    • A work environment free from sexual harassment and illegal discriminatory behavior.
  • Participate in teamwork by cooperating with co-workers, using tactful communication, and following up on reported issues.
  • Complete in-service training, maintain acceptable attendance, and adhere to uniform/dress code policies.
  • Give and receive condition reports during shift changes and conduct routine resident checks.
  • Observe and report symptoms and conditions of residents; administer treatments and medications as prescribed.
  • Maintain accurate records, including nurse’s notes, discharge plans, resident assessments, and doctor’s orders.
  • Notify physicians of changes in resident conditions and admit, transfer, or discharge residents as needed.
  • Review, monitor, and address resident or family complaints/grievances.
  • Perform emergency procedures such as CPR and report accidents or incidents promptly.
  • Assign duties to non-professional nursing staff, supervise their work, and evaluate performance.
  • Update care plans each shift and maintain a physical, social, and psychological environment conducive to resident welfare.
  • Investigate and report employee incidents and coordinate return-to-work programs with Human Resources.
  • Participate in meetings and training sessions.

Qualifications

  • Current, unencumbered RN license in Florida.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and follow safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for reports, correspondence, and presentations.
  • Basic math skills, including computation of rates, ratios, percentages, and interpretation of graphs.
  • Proficiency in basic computer skills, including nursing programs, email, and online reporting tools.
  • Ability to analyze problems, collect data, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Capability to interpret technical instructions and handle abstract and concrete variables.
  • Physical ability to perform tasks such as pushing, bending, lifting up to 60 pounds, and spending long periods on foot.
  • Good physical and emotional health, free of communicable diseases.
  • Ability to react quickly in emergencies and maintain positive working relationships with residents, families, and team members.

Pay

Hourly pay range: $35–$39.

Schedule

Part-time, 12-hour shifts.
