Job Description

The Registered Nurse (Hospital-Based) is responsible for delivering nursing care to patients of various age groups, utilizing the nursing process and nursing practice standards. Key competencies include:

• Nursing Practice Competencies: Intervene to achieve safe, optimal patient and family-centered care health outcomes.
• Leadership Competencies: Coordinate patient care and communicate with the care team.
• Professional Profile Competencies: Develop professionally as a lifelong learner.
• Practice Outcomes Competencies: Evaluate care based on evidence, the UofL Health quality model, and patient safety goals.

The Registered Nurse (Hospital-Based) demonstrates competency in caring for complex patients and participates in improving the quality of care in the clinical area.

Shift Details

Shift: First Shift
Location: 727 Hospital Drive, Shelbyville, KY 40065
Hours: Typically 8-12 hours per shift, may offer flexibility for shorter shifts depending on department's need.
Shifts per Week: Required hours to meet agreed Full-Time Equivalent (FTE).
Overtime: Occasionally required.

Qualifications

To be considered, candidates must have:

• A valid RN license in Kentucky or a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) from the National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN) accepted in lieu of a Kentucky Nursing License.
• Current CPR certification.
• Experience in a hospital-based setting preferred.
• Knowledge of UofL Health quality model and patient safety goals.
