About the role

This position is responsible for the utilization and timely, accurate completion of the Resident Assessment Instrument (RAI) including Minimum Data Set (MDS) tools and care planning in accordance with federal, state, and Veterans Administration regulations as well as Medicare and managed care guidelines for coverage, billing, and reimbursement. Position also acts as a resource to the Interdisciplinary Team in resident assessment and care planning, as well as in staff education, to ensure the delivery of quality care.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate the timely and accurate completion of the Resident Assessment Instrument (RAI) including Minimum Data Set (MDS) tools and care planning in accordance with federal, state, and Veterans Administration regulations as well as Medicare and managed care guidelines for coverage, billing, and reimbursement.
  • Act as a resource to the Interdisciplinary Team in resident assessment and care planning, as well as in staff education, to ensure the delivery of quality care.
  • Provide education to staff on the RAI and MDS tools.
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal standards in skilled nursing facility/long term care.

Requirements

  • Licensed in Minnesota as a Registered Nurse with no restrictions and in good standing.
  • Current Resident Assessment Coordinator Certification (RAC-CT).
  • Two years of experience as a Registered Nurse, which needs to include 1 year of minimum data set (MDS) experience in a health care setting with primary responsibility for assessing nursing and health needs.
  • Knowledge of state and federal standards in skilled nursing facility/long term care.
  • Experience with documenting and writing reports.
  • Communications skill sufficient to develop and deliver training/education and explain complex terms and concepts to a diverse audience.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross or ability to be certified by date of hire.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or a related field.
  • Experience in a skilled nursing facility/long term care environment.
  • Experience working in close cooperation with an interdisciplinary team.
  • Experience leading or supervising professional-level nursing staff.
  • Experience developing and managing nursing staffing plans using evidence-based strategies focused on quality of care and budget management.
  • Experience providing education to staff.

Pay

  • $42.20 - $62.48/ hourly.
  • $88,114 - $130,458.

Schedule

  • Day Shift, 7:30 am - 4:00 pm.
  • Monday - Friday.
