About the Role
Kettering Health is a not-for-profit system of 14 medical centers and more than 120 outpatient facilities serving southwest Ohio. Our mission is to live God’s love by promoting and restoring health. The Registered Nurse (RN) utilizes the nursing process in providing nursing care to patients in all settings in collaboration with other interdisciplinary personnel. Utilizing organizational resources, the RN acts as a patient advocate for the delivery of safe care, including delegation of care and participation in performance and practice improvement. The RN’s actions and communications should reflect Kettering Health Network’s mission, vision, values, and policies in interactions with patients, families, and coworkers. The Registered Nurse reports to the Clinical Nurse Manager.
Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care to patients using the nursing process in collaboration with interdisciplinary personnel.
- Act as a patient advocate for the delivery of safe care, including delegation of care.
- Participate in performance and practice improvement initiatives.
- Communicate and act in alignment with Kettering Health Network’s mission, vision, values, and policies.
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
- Licensed in the state of Ohio as a Registered Nurse.
- At least 12 months of RN experience in an acute care or long-term care setting.
- BLS certification.
- ACLS certification required within six months of hire.
- Must be scheduled a minimum of 1,152 hours per calendar year.
- Minimum of 12 shifts (144 hours) per 6-week schedule.
- Weekend shift requirement: 2 holidays per year.
Preferred Qualifications
- ICU, ED, or Cath Lab experience.
