RN Resident - Geriatric Psych
About the Role
Join Cleveland Clinic Lutheran Hospital, a Magnet Hospital awarded by the American Nurses Credentialing Center, and provide stellar patient care in the Geriatric Psych Unit. This unit specializes in the mental health needs of patients ages 55 and older, focusing on evaluation, treatment, and stabilization of disturbances in thought, feelings, mood, behavior, and co-morbidities. As an RN, you will deliver exceptional care, interact directly with patients and their families, and offer healthcare education.
This role works nights from 7:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care.
- Implement, monitor, evaluate, update, and revise patient care plans.
- Monitor, record, document, and communicate patients’ conditions.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments.
- Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
- Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.
- Educate patients and their families.
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (Diploma, ADN, or BSN program).
- Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross.
- If in a Critical Care area, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through AHA Certification upon hire or within the first year of employment.
- Less than one year of current acute care RN experience OR licensed military RN experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- Healthcare experience from a nursing home or inpatient care.
Physical Requirements
- Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
- Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.
- Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
- Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours.
- Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.
- Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Pay
Pay Range Minimum hourly: $35.50
Maximum hourly: $55.60
The pay range reflects the anticipated range for new hires. Actual compensation will be determined based on the candidate’s work history, experience, skill set, and education. The pay range does not include shift differentials, overtime, or the value of Cleveland Clinic’s benefits package.
