The 12-month, comprehensive Nurse Residency program facilitates your transition from student to professional nurse through education, mentorship, and peer support. It teaches the knowledge, skills, and behaviors necessary for continuous improvement in patient care.

Responsibilities

The staff nurse provides nursing care to patients from birth through the lifecycle using nursing processes to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the care for patients. They function within the framework of the organization’s policies and procedures and demonstrate professional growth and accountability. They are responsible for maintaining standards of practice, coordinating patient care activities, and providing quality nursing care.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Education: Graduate of a nursing program
  • Minimum Experience: New Graduates of a nursing program eligible
  • Minimum Licensure/Certification: Current License in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse, BLS certification required
  • Additional Qualifications: Bachelor's degree preferred, Advanced certification in field of specialty, if applicable
