About the Role

St. Anthony Hospital’s 17-bed Inpatient Rehabilitation unit provides intensive rehabilitation services to maximize patients’ return to independence and function at home and in the community. The unit offers Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Language Pathology, and Case Management, along with consultation services from wound care, nutrition, patient educators, orthotists, and integrative healing specialists. Specialized rehabilitation nursing care is provided 24 hours a day, with daily medical oversight by physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants to ensure patients meet rehabilitation and medical goals for discharge.

Patients admitted to this unit undergo a qualification process and include adults across the lifespan with typical and non-typical rehabilitation diagnoses, such as stroke, traumatic or non-traumatic spinal cord injury, major multiple trauma, brain dysfunction, neurological impairments (e.g., Parkinson’s Disease, Multiple Sclerosis), and significant deconditioning following complicated medical hospitalization.

The team is highly experienced in rehabilitation and collaborates closely with therapy partners. A physician rounds daily for medical collaboration and patient meetings. The unit fosters a close-knit, compassionate environment focused on patient success and improvement.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient’s physical, psychosocial, cultural, and spiritual needs through observation, interview, review of medical records, and clinical data.
• Evaluate patient’s response and intervene to ensure optimal outcomes.
• Develop and implement a patient plan of care in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, observing outcomes in accordance with nursing standards.
• Demonstrate competency in therapeutic and diagnostic interventions, including IVs, incision/wound care, medication administration, catheterization, and specimen collections.
• Maintain thorough and confidential patient charts and records, documenting status, interventions, patient response, and outcomes accurately and timely.
• Use information technology to communicate, manage knowledge, mitigate error, and support decision-making.
• Promote, advocate, and collaborate to protect the health, safety, and rights of each patient.
• Provide patient and family education by assessing learning readiness, needs, and ability; evaluate the effectiveness of teaching.

Requirements

• Associate’s Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma (required).
• RN License in the state of employment (required).
• Medium Work physical requirements: exert/lift up to 50 lbs. force occasionally, up to 20 lbs. frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs. constantly.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (preferred).
• One (1) year of nursing experience (preferred).

Pay

$33.15 - $59.67 per hour.
