About the Role

St. Anthony Hospital’s 17-bed Inpatient Rehabilitation unit provides intensive rehabilitation services to maximize patient independence and function at home and in the community. The unit offers Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Language Pathology, Case Management, and consultation services from wound care, nutrition, patient educators, orthotists, and integrative healing specialists. Specialized rehabilitation nursing care is provided 24 hours a day, with daily medical oversight by Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, and Physician Assistants to ensure patients meet rehabilitation and medical goals for discharge.

Patients are admitted through a qualification process for both typical and non-typical rehabilitation diagnoses, including stroke, traumatic or non-traumatic spinal cord injury, major multiple trauma, brain dysfunction, neurological impairments (e.g., Parkinson’s Disease, Multiple Sclerosis), and significant deconditioning following complicated medical hospitalization. The team is highly experienced in rehabilitation medicine and collaborates closely to support patient success.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient’s physical, psychosocial, cultural, and spiritual needs through observation, interview, review of medical records, and clinical data.
• Evaluate patient’s response and intervene to ensure optimal outcomes.
• Develop and implement a patient plan of care in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, observing outcomes in accordance with nursing standards.
• Demonstrate competency in therapeutic/diagnostic interventions, including IVs, incision/wound care, medication administration, catheterization, and specimen collections.
• Maintain thorough and confidential patient charts and records, documenting status, interventions, responses, and outcomes accurately and timely.
• Use information technology to communicate, manage knowledge, mitigate error, and support decision-making.
• Promote, advocate, and collaborate to protect patient health, safety, and rights.
• Provide patient/family education by assessing learning readiness, needs, and ability; evaluate teaching effectiveness.

Requirements

• Associate’s Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma (required).
• RN License in the state of employment (required).
• Medium Work physical requirements: exert/lift up to 50 lbs. force occasionally, up to 20 lbs. frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs. constantly.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (preferred).
• One (1) year of nursing experience (preferred).

Pay

$33.15 - $59.67 per hour.
