RN Registered Nurse - Transplant Nephrology Unit - 24 Hours Weekly - Day Shift

Part-time, benefit-eligible position: two 12-hour shifts (7:00 AM to 7:30 PM), rotating weekends and holidays.

About the Role

Henry Ford St. John Hospital’s Transplant unit is a 21-bed unit specializing in nephrology and kidney transplant recovery. We provide critical care to patients throughout their stay (average of four days), in partnership with our Dialysis team.

This role involves leadership in coordinating and delivering quality, compassionate patient care. You will utilize the nursing process—assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation—to provide, delegate, supervise, and document care and teaching for patients and families. Effective communication with the healthcare team, problem-solving for variances from patient goals, and ensuring implementation of solutions are key responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and deliver compassionate, high-quality patient care.
• Utilize the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation) to guide care and patient/family education.
• Delegate and supervise care tasks as appropriate.
• Communicate pertinent patient/family information to the healthcare team.
• Identify and resolve variances from patient care goals.
• Participate in implementing solutions to improve patient outcomes.

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
• Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing.
• Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities to formulate effective nursing care plans.
• Ability to perform a wide variety of professional nursing services.
• Strong communication skills with patients, families, and hospital personnel.

Qualifications

• BSN preferred.
