Job Description

To coordinate an evidence-based comprehensive stroke program through program assessment, planning, organizing, multidisciplinary collaboration, and program evaluation for effectiveness and outcomes.

To monitor Joint Commission Primary Stroke Center Certification requirements and ensure all program records and systems are compliant.

To educate, coordinate, implement and community outreach and stroke prevention programs and annual educational opportunities for program nurses and other care providers.

To plan, evaluate and grant continuing education credits for educational offerings, to develop standards for stroke patient care in conjunction with the stroke team, and to promote continuity of care from onset of stroke through rehabilitation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing and three (3) years of related experience required.
  • Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.
  • Currently licensed or eligible to be licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the Alabama Board of Nursing, currently certified with Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and currently certified with Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA) required.

Pay and Schedule

Pay range: $71,496- $116,184 / year
Schedules: Full Time, Days
