About the role
Under general supervision, identifies and implements nursing interventions and evaluates results for a wide variety of patient populations, including: General Medicine, General Surgery, Cystic Fibrosis, Epilepsy, Advanced Lung Disease, and Bariatric Surgery. Directs and acts as a resource to other members of the nursing team as assigned. Promotes compliance and support of policies. Achieves trust in professional collegial relationships.
Responsibilities

Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited school of Nursing.
- RN License issued by the State of California.
- Current ART certification, or BLS/CPR and ACLS certifications at time of hire with commitment to obtain UCSD ART within six (6) months of hire date.
- Minimum of one (1) year of recent acute care IMU/PCU RN experience.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills to manage multiple levels of information and responsibilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- BSN/MSN.
- Experience with post-surgical patients.
Special Conditions
- Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.
- Must be able to work various hours, days, shifts, on-call, and at various locations based on the 24-hour Medical Center's business needs.
- If applicable, life-support certifications (BLS, NRP, ACLS, etc.) must include hands-on practice and in-person skills assessment; online-only certification is not acceptable.
Pay
Hourly pay scale: $91.16. Annual full pay range: $190,342 - $190,342 (prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%). Factors in determining compensation include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
Schedule
- Per Diem appointment at 20%.
- Nights, 12-hour shifts, Sunday-Saturday.
