RN - Registered Nurse - PCU - Nights

About the role

Every day, our Registered Nurses deliver a level of excellence and compassionate care to our patients in the PCU at St. Joseph's Hospital South – Progressive Care Unit – Riverview, Florida.

Responsibilities

• Cares for a group of PCU patients independently using the nursing process and clinical standards.
• Delegates appropriate patient care activities to other members of the health care team.
• Care for patient needs throughout their recovery in critical care.
• Maintains accurate records and updates care team on patient vitals and assessments.
• Identifies sudden or subtle changes in a patient’s medical condition and responds to medical emergencies for critical patients.
• Coordinates and documents appropriate discharge planning and referrals to ensure continuity of care after discharge.
• Exhibits high emotional intelligence to create a positive patient care experience that includes simplifying medical terminology and concepts to the patient.

Requirements

• RN (Registered Nurse) License.
• Diploma, Associate’s, Bachelor's or Higher in Nursing.
• 1-year RN experience in an Acute Care setting.
• BLS certification with the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
• ACLS certification with the American Heart Association.
