Shift: 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM
Every other weekend requirement

Requirements

  • RN (Registered Nurse) License
  • Diploma, Associate’s, Bachelor's or Higher in Nursing
  • Preferred Education: Bachelor's in Nursing
  • 1-year RN experience in an Acute Care setting
  • BLS certification with the American Red Cross or American Heart Association
  • ACLS certification with the American Heart Association
  • Preferred experience: PCU experience

Responsibilities

  • Works in a hospital setting and independently cares for a group of PCU patients consistently using the nursing process and clinical standards
  • Delegates appropriate patient care activities to other members of the health care team
  • Cares for patient needs throughout their recovery in critical care
  • Monitors, records, and updates care team on patient vitals and assessments
  • Identifies sudden or subtle changes in a patient’s medical condition
  • Responds to medical emergencies for critical patients
  • Coordinates and documents appropriate discharge planning and referrals to ensure continuity of care after discharge
  • Demonstrates high emotional intelligence to create a positive patient care experience that includes simplifying medical terminology and concepts for the patient
  • Maintains professional accountability and development
