RN - Registered Nurse / Part-Time, Evening Shift

About the role

The Minnesota Department of Veterans Affairs seeks a Registered Nurse (RN) to provide care within the RN scope of practice, as defined by the Minnesota Nurse Practice Act and VA regulations. This position is designated as part-time and primarily works evenings.

Responsibilities

• Deliver care to meet the physical and psychosocial needs of residents.
• Provide assessments, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of nursing care provided by other staff and make or recommend changes.
• Mentor other staff in providing effective nursing care.
• Evaluate and implement MDS assessments.

Requirements

• Licensed in Minnesota as a Registered Nurse with no restrictions and in good standing.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
• Effective communication and computer skills.

Qualifications

• Experience in a skilled nursing facility, long-term care, or other senior healthcare environment.
• Experience working with Veteran population.
• Ability to evaluate nursing care and provide mentoring.
• Knowledge of nursing practices and techniques.
• Effective interpersonal skills.
• Experience with MDS assessments.

Skills

• Computer skills for electronic charting.

Pay

$40.59 - $60.06 / hourly PLUS $2.75 per hour shift differential for all hours worked between 6:00pm and 6:00am.

Schedule

Evening Shift / 2:00 p.m. - 10:30 p.m.
