Location: Fergus Falls, MN

Part-time, unlimited, rotating shift position (day/evening). Work schedule includes at least 64 hours per two-week pay period, with weekends as assigned primarily on the day shift. Shift differential of $2.75/hour for all hours worked after 6:00pm and before 6:00am.

About the Role

This position provides direct nursing care to residents and directs/monitors care given by LPNs and CNAs in accordance with current Federal, State, Veterans Administration, and facility standards. You may be eligible for a new hire bonus of $6,000 if hired in this part-time position represented by the MNA collective bargaining agreement.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care to residents.
  • Direct and monitor care given by LPNs and CNAs.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of nursing care provided by other staff, make or recommend changes, and provide mentoring.
  • Complete electronic charting in PointClickCare.
  • Perform minimum data set (MDS) assessments, if experienced.

Requirements

  • Licensed in Minnesota as a Registered Nurse with no restrictions and in good standing. If not currently licensed in Minnesota, must be able to obtain licensure by date of hire.
  • Future RNs within six months of graduating and taking the NCLEX-RN are encouraged to apply; contingent job offers may be made upon successful completion of degree and passing of NCLEX-RN.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross, or ability to be certified by date of hire.
  • Effective communication skills to provide and follow instructions and teach skills to residents.
  • Computer skills sufficient for electronic charting.
  • Successful completion of a Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) background check, tuberculosis (Mantoux) screening (or chest x-ray), and employment reference checks.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with the Veteran population.
  • Knowledge of nursing practices and techniques to provide effective care and make decisions within the scope of nursing responsibilities.
  • Effective interpersonal skills in establishing and maintaining positive working relationships.
  • Experience with minimum data set (MDS) assessments.

Pay

Salary range: $40.59 - $60.06 per hour.
