About the role
These positions will provide direct nursing care to residents, direct and monitor care given by LPNs and CNAs in accordance with current Federal, State, Veterans Administration, and facility standards.
Schedule
- Work Shift/Work Hours: Rotating Shift Days/Evenings
- Days of Work: Varies; weekends as assigned primarily on the day shift
- Day shift: 6:00am-2:30pm
- Evening shift: 2:00pm-10:30pm
- At least 64 hours per two-week pay period; may include additional hours based on business needs
Pay
- $40.59 - $60.06 / hourly
- $2.75/hour shift differential for all hours worked after 6:00pm and before 6:00am
- Eligible for a new hire bonus of $6,000 for this part-time MNA-represented position
Minimum Qualifications
- Licensed in Minnesota as a Registered Nurse with no restrictions and in good standing. If not currently licensed, must be able to obtain licensure by date of hire.
- Future Registered Nurses within six (6) months of graduating and taking the NCLEX-RN are encouraged to apply; contingent offers may be made upon successful completion of degree and passing NCLEX-RN.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross, or ability to be certified by date of hire.
- Effective communication sufficient to provide and follow instructions and teach skills to residents.
- Computer skills sufficient to complete electronic charting, specifically in PointClickCare.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with Veteran population
- Ability to evaluate the effectiveness of nursing care provided by other staff, make or recommend changes, and provide mentoring
- Knowledge of nursing practices and techniques sufficient to provide effective nursing care and the ability to make decisions within the scope of nursing responsibilities
- Effective interpersonal skills in establishing and maintaining positive working relationships
- Experience with minimum data set (MDS) assessments
Additional Requirements
- A Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) background check may be conducted on the top finalist(s); finalist must pass.
- A Tuberculosis (Mantoux) screening (or chest x-ray) is required prior to employment.
- Employment reference checks will be conducted on all finalists, which may include a review of job performance documentation and contact with former employer(s).
