RN - Registered Nurse - Operating Room

About the role

UAB St. Vincent’s East offers available shifts for full-time positions on Monday through Friday, starting at 6:00am, with 5/8 hour shifts. Rotating holiday, weekend, and evening call is required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver professional nursing care in the operative setting to patients undergoing surgical or other invasive procedures.
• Perform scrub functions including the selection and handling of instruments and supplies used during procedure.
• Perform circulating functions including monitoring, recording and communicating patient condition and managing overall nursing care of patient before, during and after procedure.
• Directly assist operating physician with surgical tasks including hemostasis, suturing and wound exposure as well as patient positioning.
• Prepare operating rooms and surgical instruments and equipment for use.

Requirements

• Licensure / Certification / Registration: BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Licensed Associate Professional Registered Nurse credentialed from the Alabama Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing AND professional licensure at time of hire required.

• Minimum Requirements: Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing AND professional licensure at time of hire required.
• Additional Preferences: OR Experience Preferred.
