RN Registered Nurse - Neurology - 36 Hours Weekly - Night Shift

Full-time, benefit-eligible position.

About the role

Henry Ford St John Hospital's 1 East Neurology Unit is a 22 private-bed Joint Commission Certified Stroke specialty intermediate care unit with telemetry capabilities. This role provides specialized care for hemodynamically stable adult stroke patients, including those requiring neuro-endovascular interventional and thrombolytic medication with concurrent cardiac complications. Nursing staff administer titratable vasoactive and inotropic intravenous medications, as well as antiarrhythmics, antihypertensives, and thrombolytics.

Schedule

• Night shift: 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Three 12-hour shifts per week
• Rotating every other weekend and observed holidays

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership in coordinating and delivering quality, compassionate patient care.
• Utilize the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation) to provide, delegate, supervise, and document care and teaching for patients and families.
• Effectively communicate pertinent patient and family information to the healthcare team.
• Participate in finding solutions for variances from patient goals and ensure implementation of solutions.

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
• Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing.
• Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities necessary to formulate effective nursing care plans.
• Ability to perform a wide variety of professional nursing services.
• Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and hospital personnel.

Qualifications

• BSN preferred.
• Prior Critical Care nursing experience preferred.
