RN Registered Nurse - Medical Intensive Care Unit
Location: Hershey, PA | Full Time | 0.90 FTE | Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | $4.50/hour night shift differential
About the role
The Staff Nurse, RN is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care for a designated group of patients. The nurse establishes goals and priorities of nursing care, develops a written plan that includes patient education and discharge planning, and documents care given along with patient progress. The RN collaborates with medical staff on patient care matters.
The 24-bed intensive care unit specializes in critical treatment for multi-system organ failure, acute respiratory distress syndrome, sepsis, gastrointestinal hemorrhage, acute renal/liver failure, acid-base and electrolyte imbalances, diabetes mellitus, substance use disorder, and post-cardiac arrest hypothermia.
Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for a designated group of patients.
- Establish goals and priorities for patient care.
- Develop and maintain a written nursing care plan, including patient education and discharge planning.
- Document care provided and patient progress.
- Collaborate with medical staff on patient care matters.
Requirements
- Currently licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse by the state of employment or holds a multistate RN license through the interstate Nurse Licensure Compact.
- AHA BLS certification prior to the end of the orientation period.
- RNs hired after July 1, 2015, must enroll in a baccalaureate in nursing degree program within one year of hire and complete the degree within four years (excludes hires prior to June 30, 2015).
Preferred Qualifications
- Intermediate Care (IMC) experience.

Pay
$10,000 sign-on bonus for eligible candidates.
