RN Registered Nurse - ICU/TCU Float Team - FT Days, 7am-7:30pm & every 3rd Weekend

About the role

This position provides a full range of delegated, interdependent, and independent nursing services to patients within the ICU/TCU Float department. The role involves assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care provided to patients, adhering to the Seven Dimensions of Patient Care and Benner's Domains of Nursing Practice.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate development of a multi-disciplinary plan of care in accordance with Nursing Problem Care Sets and/or clinical practice guidelines.
  • Discuss plan of care with patient/family, explain meds and treatments, and provide teaching as appropriate.
  • Assess patient/family needs for information and education, and implement patient teaching using various techniques and methods.
  • Utilize a variety of pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic approaches to ensure patient comfort and relief of pain.
  • Work with Case Manager to ensure appropriate referrals are initiated prior to discharge.
  • Review discharge plans/instructions with patient prior to discharge, including signs/symptoms to watch for after leaving the hospital.
  • Document patient care according to established documentation guidelines.
  • Administer therapeutic regimens, including basic nursing procedures such as dressing change, catheterization, NG tube insertion, suctioning, and preparing patients for surgery or other invasive procedures.
  • Maintain a safe environment for the patient, including the use and documentation of restraints according to policy, and utilize universal precautions for all patients.
  • Evaluate own performance and participate in quality monitoring and improvement activities.

Qualifications

  • Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Michigan Board of Nursing within 2 months of hire date or job transfer date.
  • Certified BLS Provider specializing in Basic Life Support credentialed from the American Heart Association within 3 months of hire date or job transfer date.

Benefits

Includes a 5% market pay differential, increased night shift premium, and a sign-on bonus of $10,000.

Pay

$2 weekend differential.

Schedule

Full-time days, 7am - 7:30pm every 3rd weekend.
