Responsibilities

• Ensure provision of quality nursing care in accordance with Federal, State, and Company requirements based on acuity of residents
• Make daily rounds to each resident to ascertain the resident’s condition and comfort
• Follow safety policies in performing nursing care, assuring resident safety
• Follow infection control guidelines
• Initiate procedures to protect residents from injury and infection
• Assess and evaluate resident change of condition and institute appropriate interventions
• Communicate with the Physician as indicated by resident needs or status and assure follow-through; maintain hand-off communications with oncoming shift regarding resident care needs
• Oversee direct care staff and ensure staff complete tasks and cares as assigned
• Speak, read, and write the English language in an understandable manner
• Apply principles of basic general math
