RN, Registered Nurse - FT Nights

Facility: GSS KS Wamego • Location: Wamego, KS • Full-time night shift (6pm – 6am) • 36 hours/week • Rotating weekends and holidays

About the role

The long-term care (LTC) Registered Nurse (RN) utilizes the nursing process—assessment, diagnosis, outcomes/planning, implementation, and evaluation—to provide individualized nursing care to residents. Collaborates with residents, families, and interdisciplinary colleagues, including providers, to plan, implement, and evaluate care. Demonstrates competency and practices within the full scope of nursing expertise, using appropriate age- and population-specific standards. Cares for residents in all phases of preventative care, health maintenance, diagnosis, and treatment. Coordinates care, performs resident assessments, provides resident education, and delivers various nursing interventions. May serve as charge nurse, delegate tasks to licensed and unlicensed assistive personnel, and ensure safe, reliable care. Functions within the Nurse Practice Act and Administrative Rules of the state of licensure, adhering to the Scope and Standards of Practice and the Code of Ethics for Nurses.

Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process to assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized resident care.
• Collaborate with residents, families, and interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans.
• Provide preventative care, health maintenance, diagnosis, and treatment for residents.
• Coordinate care, perform resident assessments, and deliver resident education.
• Serve as charge nurse when needed, delegating tasks to licensed and unlicensed personnel.
• Ensure safe and reliable administration of care, resolving concerns as they arise.
• Adhere to state nursing practice laws, professional standards, and ethical guidelines.

Requirements

• Graduate from a nationally accredited nursing program (e.g., CCNE, ACEN, NLN CNEA); Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred.
• Current unencumbered RN license in the state of practice or multistate licensure if in a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) state.
• Obtain and maintain required department-specific competencies and certifications.

Pay

$32.00 – $48.00 per hour

Schedule

• Full-time, 36 hours per week.
• Night shift: 6pm – 6am.
• Rotating weekends and holidays.
