About the role

The Registered Nurse Clinical Staff Leader ensures clinical care delivery and optimal patient outcomes, provides direct patient care, assists in maintaining quality of care in a specific patient care area, serves as a role model for professional nursing practice, reviews staffing based on patient acuity and needs, assesses nursing service needs, and recommends corrective actions as appropriate.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical patient care in a 39‑bed hematology/oncology unit, including stem cell transplant and CAR T‑cell therapy patients.
• Assist in ensuring the quality of patient care delivery.
• Serve as a role model for professional nursing practice.
• Review appropriate staffing based on patient acuity and patient needs.
• Assess nursing service needs relative to patient needs and recommend corrective actions when appropriate.
• Complete the Oncology Nursing Society/Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation (ONS/ONCC) Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certification as part of orientation.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or Master's Degree in Nursing required.
• Minimum two (2) years of clinical experience required.
• Progressive leadership experience required.
• Current Registered Nurse license in the state of employment or a multistate RN license via the Nurse Licensure Compact.
• AHA BLS certification to be obtained prior to the end of the orientation period.
