About the Role
Geisinger is offering an Inpatient RN position with a hiring incentive up to $26,000 for eligible candidates. The minimum hiring rate is $41.00, with increased rates for experienced individuals and up to $7 shift differentials for evening, night, and weekend shifts.
Responsibilities
- Complete assessments as established by scope of practice and unit standards.
- Address physical, psychological, social, cultural, and spiritual needs of patient and family throughout the continuum of care.
- Formulate, coordinate, and provide a plan of care, including patient and family education, family needs, and discharge planning with members of the interdisciplinary team.
- Provide direct patient care, including treatments, medications, and diagnostic studies according to policy and procedure.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of nursing interventions and revise the plan of care based upon patient response to interventions.
- Initiate collaboration with physicians, ancillary personnel, and other interdisciplinary team members to proactively resolve and facilitate patient needs.
- Problem-solve, troubleshoot, and take corrective measures in the care and handling of equipment.
- Participate in unit-based decision-making regarding the utilization of evidence-based practice.
- Actively participate as a team member working toward team goals of the unit and organization, and be accountable for unit and system-specific metrics.
- Actively participate in patient quality and safety education programs and other activities designed to improve departmental and organizational quality and safety.
- Assess, plan, organize, perform, and evaluate nursing activities to meet patient needs.
- Promote adaptive responses of patient and family to achieve the highest level of patient care, safety, and satisfaction.
- Exhibit compassionate care during patient-nurse interactions and coordinate patient care and staff interaction.
- Ensure the best patient and family experience by optimizing all interactions.
Qualifications
- Graduate from a Specialty Training Program in Nursing (Required).
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (Preferred).
- Basic Life Support Certification.
- Licensed Registered Nurse (Pennsylvania) - RN_State of Pennsylvania.
Schedule
Hours include 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, with every other weekend and holiday requirements.
