Job Summary

Geisinger is offering a full-time Inpatient RN position up to $24,000 hiring incentive for eligible candidates. The position offers a base salary of $41.50 with potential increases for experience and up to $7 shift differentials for evening, night, and weekend shifts. Relocation assistance is also available.

About the Role

Provides direct patient care including treatments, medications, and diagnostic studies according to policy and procedure. Evaluates effectiveness of nursing interventions and revises plan of care based on patient response. Coordinates patient care and interacts with staff. Addresses physical, psychological, social, cultural, and spiritual needs of patients and families. Participates in unit-based decision-making and actively participates in patient quality and safety education programs.

Responsibilities

  • Affords assessments, plans, organizes, and performs nursing activities to meet patient needs.
  • Promotes adaptive responses of patients and families to achieve optimal care, safety, and satisfaction.
  • Counsels and educates patients and families on physical, psychological, social, cultural, and spiritual needs.
  • Coordinates patient care and interacts with interdisciplinary team members.
  • Collaborates with physicians, ancillary personnel, and other team members to address patient needs.
  • Problem-solves and troubleshoots issues related to equipment and patient care.
  • Participates in unit-based decision-making regarding the utilization of evidence-based practice.
  • Works collaboratively with team members to achieve unit and organizational goals.
  • Participates in patient quality and safety education programs.

Requirements

  • Graduate from a Specialty Training Program-Nursing.
  • Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Pennsylvania.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification - American Heart Association.
