Registered Nurse - Acute Care

Job Description

Functions include performing diagnostic tests and analyzing results, administering medications, operating medical equipment, recording patients' symptoms and medical histories, and assisting with patient rehabilitation and follow-up.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Provides direct and indirect patient care in the medical-surgical setting.
• Communicates with physicians, Nurse Manager and co-workers, as appropriate about changes in patient's status.
• Able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition, including response to treatment.
• Able to perform general nursing duties in all departments with adequate supervision.
• Must be willing to cross-train in other nursing departments as the need arises.

Qualifications And Skills

• Current California RN license.
• BLS certificate required and ACLS certificate preferred, with minimum two (2) years recent Acute/Med Surge experience preferred and operating knowledge of Electronic Medical Records preferred.
• Must pass nursing medication test.
• Must be able to effectively communicate in English; both verbal and written.
• Must have good interpersonal skills and interface professionally, tactfully and respectfully with patients, staff and the general public.
• Basic computer skills required.
