RN - Recovery Room/PACU, 0.8 FTE, Variable shift

About the role

PeaceHealth is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) – Recovery Room for a Full-Time (0.80 FTE), Variable shift position.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care needs
• Accurately document patient care in the electronic medical record
• Delegate and coordinate care with other team members based on scope and competency
• Maintain professional knowledge through ongoing education and development
• Participate in quality improvement, safety, and infection prevention initiatives
• Support and uphold hospital policies, procedures, and standards
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
• Experience: Minimum 2 years of recent Phase I PACU experience in an acute care setting -OR- 2 years of recent ICU experience
• Proven expertise in managing: Airway emergencies (e.g., laryngospasm, obstruction, stridor, arrest) Hemodynamically unstable patients
• Credentials: Current Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Basic Life Support (BLS) upon hire
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 6 months
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 6 months

Skills & Abilities

• Strong knowledge of age-specific care across the lifespan
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Understanding of hospital policies and procedures
• Basic computer proficiency

Working Conditions

• Patient handling up to 35 lbs. (with assistive devices as appropriate)
• Frequent pushing/pulling up to 45 lbs.
• Ability to perform CPR (20 minutes, 100–125 lbs. force)
• Frequent standing, bending, reaching, and movement
• Exposure to biohazards, body fluids, and a dynamic, sometimes noisy environment
