About the role
We are seeking a leader in the provision of patient care using the nursing process within the framework of the Nurse Practice Act, ANA Code for Nurses and Scope & Standards of Practice. This role involves effectively delegating, directing, and assisting licensed and ancillary team members, while maintaining accountability for quality patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Affirms the importance of cultural, ethnic, and religious diversity in all interactions.
- Maintains involvement in activities aimed toward achieving unit and departmental strategic goals and objectives.
- Utilizes data, information, and knowledge to evaluate and promote change for optimal outcomes.
- Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, ensuring respect for privacy and clear communication.
- Communicates, delegates, and manages nursing team resources (human and fiscal) effectively.
- Serves as a leader and partner on the interdisciplinary team.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred.
- Two years of Critical Care RN experience at an Academic Medical Center preferred.
- Five years of Critical Care RN experience at a Community Hospital preferred.
- Certified in a clinical specialty area preferred.
Qualifications
- Current registered nurse (RN) license in state of practice.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
Skills
- Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
