Registered Nurse - Rapid Response (Full Time, Nights)

About the role

This position is full time, 36 hours per week, night shifts. The schedule is 3 12-hour shifts, 7:00pm to 7:00am, and every 3rd weekend rotation. Some holidays also required.

Responsibilities

  • Practices within the Lahey Clinic Professional Practice Model, MA Nurse Practice Act, ANA Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics
  • Demonstrates Lahey Clinic’s core values that reflect its Mission
  • Provides care directly to patients and in collaboration with other health care team members
  • Maintains a current level of knowledge and skill with technical procedures as defined by nursing specialty organization
  • Complies with all regulations and standards of regulatory and accrediting bodies
  • Bears full and ultimate responsibility for the quality of nursing care provided
  • Facilitates coordination of care across the continuum
  • Delegates and supervises in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act of Massachusetts Rules & Regulations- 244 CMR 3.0

Requirements

  • Education: Graduate of a state approved and/or accredited School of Nursing. BSN preferred.
  • Licensure, Certification, Registration: Current license to practice professional nursing from the Massachusetts Board of Registration and BLS, ACLS, TNCC (Trauma Nurse Core Curriculum), and PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification.
  • Minimum 2 years Critical Care nursing experience.

  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Ability to cross train to multiple clinical areas

Skills

  • Knowledge of physical, psychosocial, cultural, educational, spiritual, safety and age-appropriate considerations of patients
  • Ability to make decisions and hold oneself accountable for decisions specific to assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of the plan
  • Knowledge of clinical judgment and decision making
  • Knowledge of professional relationships, clinical leadership, and clinical scholarship
  • Knowledge of delegation and supervision in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act of Massachusetts Rules & Regulations- 244 CMR 3.0
