About the Role

This is a full-time, days position for an RN Quality Consultant at INTEGRIS Health Baptist Medical Center in Oklahoma City, OK. The Clinical Consultant provides clinical and technical expertise, fostering the use of systematic analysis and engaging in inquiry ranging from problem-solving to research. This role collaborates with CNOs, department directors, clinical staff, and various healthcare disciplines to identify learning needs, design professional development activities, and integrate research to facilitate practice changes.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical and technical consultation for the initiation and adoption of quality measures and process changes.
• Monitor trends and issues in healthcare.
• Assess education, professional development, and competency needs through analysis of quality reports, incident reports, HR reports, direct observation, and multidisciplinary collaboration.
• Identify trends and conduct gap analysis between current and desired outcomes and performance.
• Establish goals and objectives for professional development programs and learning activities.
• Design, implement, and facilitate formal and informal programs/strategies using adult learning theory and incorporating available evidence from research.
• Provide content expertise and facilitate clinical policies and procedures development, education, and implementation into practice.
• Facilitate analysis of clinical data, human resource reports, or other cultural issues and identify strategies for resolution, including training or other interventions.
• Integrate interdepartmental/interdisciplinary initiatives across campuses or system-wide.
• Facilitate the interface between processes, programs, or initiatives to ensure organizational and system needs are met.
• Lead process and practice changes to incorporate the latest evidence established through nursing research findings.

For BMC and IHE Only:

• Evaluate the effectiveness of education, professional development, or process change interventions.
• Coordinate and facilitate complex education and professional development programs.
• Assist client base with accreditation preparation.
• Conduct program costs, benefits, and outcomes analysis.
• Plan and coordinate implementation of new technology, clinical practice models, and other large-scale initiatives.
• Lead organizational strategic initiatives to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies and accrediting bodies.
• Facilitate alignment with partners and academic institutions.
• Provide consultation and mentorship to clinical care providers for implementation of evidence-based practice.

For SMC, IMH & IGH Only:

• Monitor unit-based clinical quality measures.
• Maintain knowledge regarding regulatory compliance.
• Assist with organizational strategic initiatives to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies and accrediting bodies.
• Provide consultation and mentorship to nursing leadership and clinical care providers for implementation of evidence-based practice.
• Integrate interdepartmental/interdisciplinary initiatives for the organization.
• Facilitate the interface between processes, programs, or initiatives to ensure organizational needs are met.

For IHE Only:

• Serve as the primary contact for the infection prevention program for IHE.
• Oversee the infection surveillance program, including data analysis and intervention strategies for improving healthcare outcomes.

Reports to Nursing Administration. This position may have additional or varied physical demand and/or respiratory fit test requirements. Possible exposure to infectious blood and body fluids, sharps, hazardous radiation and chemicals, inhalation of gas, electrical shock, and back injury while teaching in patient care areas and in office or conference center. Also may be exposed to communicable diseases while in patient care areas. May be required to work extended hours, on off shifts, and weekends.

Requirements

• 5 years of recent clinical practice with demonstration of progressive teaching experience.
• Graduation from an accredited nursing or other allied health program.
• Associate's degree in nursing.
• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Oklahoma or current multistate license from a Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC) member state.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by American Red Cross or American Heart Association within 30 days of hire.

Skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office including PowerPoint, Excel, Publisher, and database software such as Access.
• Excellent communication, oral presentation, and professional writing skills.
• Must be able to communicate effectively in English (verbal/written).

Preferred Qualifications

• 3 years of professional development, consultation, or leadership experience.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in nursing, allied health, or related field.
