Summary of Job Duties

The posting will fill multiple positions. The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Psychiatric Research Institute (PRI) consistently provides effective direct care to a variety of patients, will work as part of the interdisciplinary team, based on licensure, title and competencies. The RN seeks, as well as provides, feedback for improved clinical practice. The RN integrates theory and research into clinical practice. The RN provides leadership to members of the nursing team in order to maintain patient care standards. The RN works under the direct supervision of the Clinical Services Manager (CSM).

Qualifications

  • Minimum Qualifications: Graduate of an accredited nursing program with an Associate's Degree in Nursing, Nursing Diploma, Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, or Master's Degree in Nursing
    Minimum 1 year of Registered Nurse experience
    Current and valid Registered Nurse License in the State of Arkansas
    Excellent communication skills, basic computer skills, strong work ethic and accountability
  • Preferred Qualifications: 2 or more years of Registered Nurse experience
    Current BLS

Responsibilities

  • Collections and documents assessment data from patients and/or others per UAMS standard.
    Develops patient's Plan of Care (POC) per department/unit standards utilizing assessment data.
    Evaluates the progress of patients toward attainment of desired outcomes.
    Administers medication following department/unit standards and Nurse Practice Act.
    Verifies and evaluates care delivered to ensure it is consistent with patient and family centered care principles, practice standards and regulatory requirements.
    Effectively collaborates and communicates with nursing staff at all levels, interdisciplinary teams, executive leaders, and other stakeholders.
    Communicates care appropriately through documentation in the medical record.
    Reports variances in care/ systems/ processes through the appropriate means.
    Acts as a resource/support to others in the performance of duties.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to the personal and professional development of other UAMS employees.
    Participates in recruitment/retention of staff.
    Facilitates development and implementation of nursing practice standards that are evidence-based and in compliance with ANA standards.
    Delegates care based on UAMS standards, legal and regulatory requirements, specific job descriptions, scope of practice and individual level of education and training.
    Evaluates personal performance based on professional practice standards.
    Uses constructive feedback from peers and supervisors to improve practice and performance.
    Maintains clinical competencies specific to area of practice/ responsibility.
