RN Program Coordinator
About the role
The RN Program Coordinator provides administrative support and coordinates management and operations. Responsibilities include developing and implementing services/systems towards an organized, multidisciplinary approach to the delivery of care to patients and program goals. Duties also involve promoting the continuity of care for patients through ongoing education, development of programs, evaluation of outcomes, and direct interaction with patients, families, and groups.
Responsibilities
- Directs and oversees Performance Improvement initiatives.
- Collaborates with physicians, nursing staff, and other health care providers to ensure comprehensive, coordinated patient and family education.
- Identifies opportunities for improvement in patient outcomes and participates in plans to enhance clinical outcomes and patient satisfaction.
- Captures and submits education programs to meet national standards of accreditation for patients, nurses, exercise physiologists and exercise specialists, as applicable.
- Prepares and performs annual review of the program.
- Affirms and revises policies and protocols.
- Assists in marketing and program preparation.
- Conducts daily rounds and/or audits on applicable patient population, as needed.
- Supervises, trains, and promotes the development of staff and provides direction as needed.
Requirements
- MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE: Associate’s degree in Nursing. Current Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which services will be provided or current multi-state Registered Nurse license through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC). Obtain certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire.
- PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN). Certification in area of specialty.
Qualifications
- Three (3) years of clinical experience in nursing.
- Five (5) years of clinical experience in Nursing.
Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of and appropriate application of the nursing process.
- Knowledge of professional theory, practice and procedure.
- Ability to communicate clearly with patients, families, physicians, and other employees.
Additional Job Description
The RN Program Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the Stroke Program and overseeing the development, accreditation, implementation, and evaluation of educational programs that meet national standards for patients and healthcare professionals. Experience with program accreditation processes, regulatory requirements, and maintaining compliance with national accrediting bodies is preferred.
