About the role
Provides direct and indirect patient care in various healthcare settings, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes. Utilizes critical thinking, nursing processes, and compassionate care to deliver high-quality services while respecting patient autonomy, dignity, and rights. Performs general nursing duties, patient education, and prioritization, ensuring safe and effective care.
Responsibilities
- Conducts appropriate and accurate patient assessments based on medical conditions.
- Administers medications as prescribed with knowledge of their use.
- Provides age-specific care, including basic self-care activities.
- Develops and evaluates patient and family teaching plans.
- Utilizes nursing knowledge for treatments and services.
- Collaborates with healthcare teams to coordinate care.
- Assists physicians with procedures and performs technical skills.
- Addresses psychosocial needs, communicating with social services for discharge planning.
- Practices cost-effective resource use and minimizes waste.
- Prioritizes patient care effectively and promotes safety to reduce harm.
- Engages in lifelong learning to enhance nursing skills.
Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
- Computer literacy.
- RN licensure and BLS certification within 14 days of hire.
- ACLS/PALS preferred.
