About the Facility

West Bloomfield is an outpatient facility offering two Endoscopy Suites and an additional 3 ORs. Service lines include endoscopy, ophthalmology, podiatry, ENT, breasts, plastics, general surgery, and dental procedures. The facility provides care for both pediatric and adult patient populations. West Bloomfield utilizes a teamwork approach, comprised of RNs, Surgical Technologists, and Surgery Support Staff to deliver compassionate care while supporting surgeons and anesthesia providers throughout surgical procedures. Patient safety is the primary focus, along with patient- and family-centered care.

Royal Oak Hospital is recognized by U.S. News & World Report as the #2 hospital in Michigan and one of the top hospitals in the country. It is a major academic and referral center with Level I adult and Level II pediatric trauma designations. The hospital has earned Magnet designation four consecutive times and houses Michigan’s first Diagnostic Imaging Center of Excellence.

About the Role

The Registered Nurse (RN), under the ANA scope of practice, utilizes the nursing process framework to provide professional nursing care by incorporating patient-family centered care principles. Responsibilities include assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and discharging patients. The RN delivers quality care under the direction of the Nurse Leader according to Corewell Health policies and procedures, recognizing the impact of nursing care and patient/family partnerships on outcomes. The RN partners with patients and families to develop care plans, creates teaching strategies, and documents education and learning in the health record.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and discharge patients using patient-family centered care principles.
• Provide quality patient care under the direction of the Nurse Leader in accordance with Corewell Health policies.
• Partner with patients and families to develop and document care plans and teaching strategies.
• Recognize the impact of nursing care and patient/family partnerships on patient outcomes.

Requirements

• Associate’s in Nursing (Required).
• Bachelor’s in Nursing (Required within 5 years).
• Graduates from a non-accredited school of nursing must have at least one year of acute care experience or two years of experience in a licensed health care role and must have passed the NCLEX licensure examination.
• Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) license (Required).
• AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (Required).
• AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (Required within 6 months).
• Specialty Certification highly recommended within 2 years.
• 2 years of PACU, Endoscopy, or ICU RN experience (preferred).

Schedule

• Full-time position.
• Day shift: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM.
• 40 hours per week.
• Monday through Friday.
• No weekends.
