This position is located at our Level II Trauma Center in Boise, Idaho, off I-184 and Curtis Rd.

About the department

Our Outpatient Day Surgery department cares for patients undergoing a variety of procedures, including ear/nose/throat, plastics, orthopedic surgeries, and minor laparoscopic procedures. The team interacts with patients, their families, surgeons, and anesthesia personnel throughout the entire perioperative experience.

About the role

As a Pre Op Registered Nurse at Saint Alphonsus Health System, you will provide hands-on patient care while collaborating with colleagues, maintaining accurate documentation, and utilizing resources wisely. You will serve as a patient advocate by promoting their physical, spiritual, and emotional well-being. Responsibilities include educating patients, administering prescribed medications and treatments, and developing care plans based on patient needs.

Requirements

  • Current RN license is required
  • Multistate licenses must establish residency with the Idaho Board of Nursing within 60 days from hire
  • At hire, Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross is required (ACLS and/or PALS may be accepted in lieu of BLS)
  • ACLS/PALS certification within 12 months of hire
