What You’ll Bring
A caregiver in this position works days/evenings with flex start times from 11:00 a.m. – 9:30 p.m. including on-call and weekend rotation with hours from 7:00 a.m. – 7:30 p.m. requirements.
What You’ll Do
- Provide direct nursing care.
- Assess, plan, implement and evaluate care for a given patient population.
- Complete ongoing assessments, recognize changes in patient condition and respond appropriately.
- Develop and update goals, involve patients and families in developing plans of care and serve as a patient advocate.
- Provide nursing care, administer treatments/medication and document.
- Participate in ongoing interdisciplinary evaluation of patient/family outcomes
- Contribute to the improvement of care and participate in the quality improvement process.
- Delegate tasks/assignments, serve as a resource person, pursue ongoing education and specialty certifications, maintain applicable certification/licensure and obtain any required certifications specific to the unit.
- Assess patient status, communicate and document pertinent information regarding patient condition and changes in condition and prioritize patient care needs.
- Perform calmly and professionally during crisis or emergencies, learn new routines quickly and develop, document and provide comprehensive discharge planning and teaching for patients and families.
Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited School of Professional Nursing (ADN or BSN program)
- Current state of Ohio licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certifications
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Critical care background
- PACU/ICU experience
Physical Requirements
- Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patient, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
- Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.
- Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
- Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours.
- Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.
- Medium Work – Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
- Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.
