RN - PICU Job Summary Provides specialized nursing care to critically ill infants, children, and adolescents in a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. Monitors complex conditions, manages critical care treatments, and responds promptly to changes in patient status. Education & Experience Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (Required) Minimum 1 year of PICU, pediatric critical care, or acute care nursing experience (Preferred) Licenses & Certifications Current RN license in state of practice (Required) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (Required) Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification (Required) Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (Preferred) Key Responsibilities Performs comprehensive assessments and continuously monitors critically ill pediatric patients. Monitors vital signs, cardiac rhythms, respiratory status, and other critical parameters. Administers medications, IV therapy, and specialized treatments as prescribed. Manages and monitors ventilators, lines, drains, and other critical care equipment. Recognizes and responds promptly to changes in patient condition and medical emergencies. Collaborates with physicians and the multidisciplinary team to coordinate patient care. Provides education and emotional support to patients and their families. Documents assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in the medical record.
