About the role
The RN serves as a professional caregiver providing skilled, compassionate care to patients with various medical conditions. Responsibilities include assessing, implementing, and evaluating nursing care, inserting and managing PICC lines, administering medications, recognizing and responding to complications, educating patients, and collaborating with healthcare teams.
Responsibilities
- Inserts PICC lines and other vascular access devices using ultrasound guidance and sterile technique.
- Verifies catheter placement and documents procedure details.
- Maintains and troubleshoots PICC lines and other central venous access devices.
- Administers medications and infusions according to approved techniques.
- Recognizes and addresses complications such as infections, occlusions, and malpositions.
- Educates patients and families on PICC line care and infection prevention.
- Collaborates with physicians, advanced practitioners, and other healthcare professionals.
- Documents patient assessments, procedures, and care in the electronic medical record.
- Maintains competency in vascular access practices through ongoing education and certification.
- Fosters a culture of teamwork by participating in orientation, meetings, and special projects.
Requirements
- Graduated from an accredited school of nursing, with a bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience preferred.
- Prior vascular access experience required, or infusion therapy experience preferred.
- Current and unrestricted Washington State Nursing license.
- Current BLS certification.
- ACLS required.
- PICC certification and/or Vascular Access Board Certification (VA-BC).

- Physical requirements: Lifting up to 35 lbs frequently, carrying up to 35 lbs frequently, pushing/pulling frequently, sitting frequently, standing frequently, walking frequently, bending/stooping constantly, crouching occasionally.

Pay
Pay Range: $41.50 - $78.57 depending on experience.
Schedule
Work shift: 10-hour shifts from 0700-1730, with variable days and rotating weekend coverage.
