About the role
We are seeking a leader in the provision of patient care using the nursing process within the framework of the Nurse Practice Act, ANA Code for Nurses and Scope & Standards of Practice. This role involves effectively delegating, directing, and assisting licensed and ancillary team members, while assuming accountability for quality patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Affirms accountability for quality patient outcomes.
- Maintains sensitivity to cultural, ethnic, and religious diversity in all interactions.
- Maintains involvement in activities aimed toward the achievement of unit and departmental strategic goals and objectives.
- Demonstrates professional responsibility and accountability for his/her own practice.
- Serves as a leader and partner on the interdisciplinary team.
- Uses data, information, and knowledge to evaluate and promote change in order to achieve optimal outcomes.
- Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, including respecting privacy, adapting explanations, requesting permissions, and communicating in a manner suitable to the patient group.
Requirements
This role requires a graduate of an accredited school of nursing. A bachelor’s degree in nursing is preferred. No prior work experience is required. Certifications required include a current registered nurse (RN) license in the state of practice, current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association, and certification in a clinical specialty area (preferred).
