Qualifications

  • Associate Degree: Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing
  • (RN) Registered Nurse
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Spt must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • PALS Pediatric Adv Life Supt must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
  • If hired after 6/1/12, BSN required within 24 months of hire into RN position
  • Congenital Heart Experience and/or high-acuity PICU medical-surgical experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Perform direct patient care within the scope of the Nurse Practice Act, with emphasis on the critically ill patient with Congenital Heart Disease and/or Surgery
  • Organize, implement, modify, evaluate, document and maintain the plan of care. This plan will be individualized, family centered, and holistic
  • Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment
  • Participate in CHSU initiatives and process improvement
  • Maintain high-quality age specific care for the neonatal, pediatric, adolescent and young adult population
  • Support the mission, vision and values of the organization
  • Apply scientific knowledge; use a variety of equipment; and perform multiple technical procedures
  • Proactively advocate for patients and consistently educate patients/family throughout the continuum of care
  • Utilize ability to demonstrate and apply the technical, critical thinking and interpersonal skills
