Job Summary
Perform direct patient care within the scope of the Nurse Practice Act, with emphasis on the pediatric acute and critically ill patient. The RN in the Super Pool will organize, implement, modify, evaluate, document and maintain the plan of care. This plan will be individualized, family centered, and holistic.
Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment. Participate in MCCH initiatives and process improvement. Maintain high-quality age specific care for the neonatal, pediatric, adolescent and young adult population. Switch shifts for periods of time based on the facility need. Support the mission, vision and values of the organization.
Qualifications
- Must have 3 years of Peds type experience in a Hospital Setting
- Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
- Neonate Resuscitate must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
- PALS Pediatric Adv Life Supt must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
- (RN) Registered Nurse license in the State of Texas or Compact license
- Associate’s degree is required - if hired after 06/01/2012, BSN required within 24 months of hire into RN position
- Tier II - Must be able to work PICU, CICU, NICU Level IC, Peds ED Stem Cell Transplant (Peds Patients)
- Current AHA or ARC BLS provider
- American Academy of Pediatrics NRP required within 6 months of hire or transfer
- CCRN, CPEN, RNC-NIC, CPHON, and BMTCN preferred
