About the role
The Patient Transfer Coordinator Nurse facilitates patient throughput between all UTMB campuses and non UTMB hospitals ensuring appropriate bed placement and MD to MD recorded conference while adhering to EMTALA regulations and hospital guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate patient transfers between UTMB campuses and non-UTMB hospitals
- Ensure appropriate bed placement for patients
- Record and document MD to MD conferences
- Adhere to EMTALA regulations and hospital guidelines
Requirements
- Associate’s degree in Nursing
- Minimum of three (3) years of inpatient experience in a hospital environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
Skills
- Strong communication skills
- Knowledge of EMTALA regulations
- Experience with hospital bed management systems
