RN PAIN MANAGEMENT

Horizon Health is a Critical Access, Rural Health Facility with 25 inpatient beds in Paris, IL, and multiple outpatient clinic settings including Family Practice and Specialty Clinics in Paris and surrounding cities. Serving Edgar County since 1968, we provide community education, emergency services, and outpatient care.

About the role

The RN will participate in the care of patients undergoing pain management procedures, including sedation, admission, and discharge duties. Additional responsibilities may be assigned within the Pain Management Clinic setting.

Requirements

• Graduate from an associate degree, baccalaureate degree, or diploma school of nursing
• Current RN licensure in the state of Illinois
• BLS and ACLS certification

Responsibilities

• Provides and facilitates competent health care of patients and families in area of practice, ensuring adherence to established standards of care and scope of practice
• Performs advanced nursing activities, including assisting with procedures using conscious sedation and placement of IVs
• Ensures documentation of care is complete and accurate
• Acts as preceptor and supports the development of other staff and healthcare students
• Participates in initiatives designed to improve the quality of care or clinical outcomes
• Assists Clinic Manager and Pain Management provider in the development of departmental standing protocols and orders
• Assesses patients in procedural area, both pre- and post-procedure, reviews medication, allergies, medical history, and obtains vital signs
• Initiates IV therapy
• Triages phone calls, completes prior authorizations, injection screening, and MRI screenings
• Provides education to patients in the office and post-injection area
• Orders, stocks, and maintains supplies for the department
• Assists injectionists with procedures (epidural, nerve block, joint injection, radiofrequency nerve ablation, etc.)

Pay

Pay ranges from $26.688 to $42.740 per hour, based on applicable years of experience.

Schedule

Monday–Friday, 7 am–5:30 pm (4-day work week with alternating days off).
