About the role

The PACU Registered Nurse at San Antonio Endoscopy Center provides continuity and quality nursing care for all patients, with continual evaluation of the patient's condition, providing patient safety, comfort, and privacy at all times. The position involves assisting physicians in the procedure rooms, managing sedation, and caring for patients emerging from general anesthesia or sedation.

Responsibilities

  • Provides comprehensive patient care to patients emerging from general anesthesia and/or sedation
  • Evaluates the patient's condition and implements necessary interventions
  • Affixes sterile dressings and performs other related duties as needed
  • Assists physicians in the procedure rooms with various tasks, including conscious sedation
  • Maintains a safe and comfortable environment for patients and staff
  • Communicates effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare providers

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing
  • Active RN license in the state
  • BLS and ACLS Required, PALS if required by the center
  • 2 years experience in PACU or Critical Care preferred
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish required
  • Able to make decisions based on nursing judgment
  • Able to prioritize and organize workload to meet the needs of patients and the unit
  • Strong communication skills, verbal and written

Qualifications
