RN PACU

About the Role

As a PACU Registered Nurse at St. Mark's Hospital, you will play a critical role in the immediate post-operative care of surgical patients. You will manage airway support, closely monitor neurological and cardiac status, respond promptly to complications or side effects, provide initial wound care, and ensure patient stability during recovery. This role includes on-call availability during select non-business hours, which will be discussed during the interview.

Position Details

• Self/Preferential Scheduling posted four weeks in advance
• Supportive, visible leadership that promotes a collaborative and respectful team culture
• Staffing support from Certified Nurse Assistants, Patient Care Techs, Charge Nurses, and an internal RN float pool
• Rounding with unit leaders to ensure your input on patient care is heard

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care while managing evidence-based practices and continuous improvement initiatives
• Collaborate as an integral member of a dynamic interdisciplinary team, including providers and therapy staff
• Apply the nursing process, critical thinking, scientific judgment, and leadership to independently deliver safe nursing care
• Assess and monitor patient condition throughout your shift, documenting changes and care provided
• Educate patients and families/caregivers about medical conditions, treatments, and follow-up measures

Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification
• Associate Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date)
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification (must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date)
• One or more years of PACU or ICU experience
