Responsibilities
- Delegates nursing care activities and monitors care given by appropriate care team members in accordance with patient needs, and the team member’s professional capabilities and qualifications.
- Supports use of Evidenced Based Practice and incorporates best practices into daily care routine.
- Affords assistance in creating a positive work environment by mentoring of staff/students, and working with team members to develop and facilitate initiatives to strive for positive outcomes in quality and care of patients.
- Effectively communicates with all team members, physicians, ancillary staff and all customers.
- Complies with all policies and procedures, and guides team members with compliance.
- Compiles with all safety goals, infection prevention and risk management policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Education: Must have completed an accredited nursing program and possess a valid nursing license.
- All newly licensed RNs with less than six (6) months of acute RN experience at the time of application are required to successfully complete the Nurse Residency program.
- BSN Preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of two years of Medical-Surgical Experience required.
Qualifications
- License(s)/Certification(s): Valid nursing license required.
- Certifications to include: BCLS upon hire required. ACLS and PALS upon hire or within 6 weeks of hire. One (1) hour of stroke education to be completed by the end of orientation and then annually thereafter.
- Specialty certification is encouraged.
